Voxity Desktop
status: SCRAPPED (28 June)inception: May 2026
language: TypeScript & JavaScript (Electron)
Voxity Desktop was a semi-advanced local music player, forked from & built around Voxity. It was the successor to Voxity's Electron wrapper: this actually used Electron for stuff.
features
All the features Voxity has, and:- Folder scanning that builds a database of songs
- 5 tabs: artists, albums, tracks, queue & lyrics
- Linux MPRIS support, obeying volume, shuffle, loop and other controls
- Context menus to add-all, play next, search, etc
- Discord RPC integration
- Last.fm scrobbling
As of 28 June, Voxity Desktop has been completely abandoned and is no longer being worked on or available for download. The reason being is, extremely high complexity, and it somehow made my whole computer crash multiple times a day. Nevertheless, I think there's enough Electron music players out there.
